HOW MORPHEUS8 WORKS
You probably heard of microneedling – a dermapen procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin, in order to generate new collagen and tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin.
Morpheus8 works similar to a microneedling tool, but rather than simply prick the skin, this device also incorporates radiofrequency, which triggers that collagen and elastin production at a deeper level that microneedling can’t reach. The 24 coated pins penetrate into the subdermal tissue, coagulating the fat and contracting connective tissue to tighten and rejuvenate the treated area.
As for the procedure, after using a topical numbing cream on the patient’s treatment area, the handheld device is pressed into the area, allowing the minuscule microneedles to perforate the skin. Once the pins are in place, they emit radiofrequency (RF) waves. The heat from these waves penetrates deep into the dermal skin layer, tightening the skin and fat below. The whole procedure – numbing and preparations included – doesn’t take much more than two hours.

WHAT DOES THE MORPHEUS8 PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
PRIOR THE TREATMENT:
First, you will review your medical history with the doctor, to ensure you are suitable for the treatment, and she will medically examine the areas to be treated and explain the procedure, aftercare, all possible complications, and what to avoid prior to the treatment.
THE TREATMENT:
The 30-minute procedure is simple, safe, and causes minimal discomfort and minimal downtime. Numbing cream will be applied prior to the treatment area for additional comfort.
Morpheus8 applicator will be applied with 1-3 passes to the skin on the treated areas. The 24 coated pins on the applicator will penetrate into the subdermal tissue, coagulating the fat and contracting connective tissue to tighten and correct lines and wrinkles on the treated area.
POST TREATMENT CARE:
You must not touch or apply anything on the treated area for 12 hours after the procedure in order to prevent infection. Specific after-care instructions will be provided during your visit.

WHEN YOU’LL SEE MORPHEUS8 RESULTS
You will see results as quickly as your first Morpheus8 treatment, but it is recommended to have at least 3 sessions spaced roughly 4 to 6 weeks apart to see full results. Your results will continue to improve up to three months after treatment.
As for downtime after each session, expect to see some mild swelling and redness that looks and feels like a sunburn for three to four days following treatment, plus some possible flaking as the tiny punctures from the microneedle heal.
WHAT KIND OF POST-PROCEDURE AFTERCARE IS REQUIRED
Avoid touching and applying any cream or makeup on the treated areas for 12 hours. After that, you should moisturize the treatment area with a highly hydrating cream and avoid direct sun exposure.
Make-up can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment.
