Procedure
HOW DOES MORPHEUS8 WORK?
Our procedures for Morpheus 8 in White Rock combine radio frequency technology, needling, and fractional treatments to address a variety of skincare problems. Tiny needles penetrate the skin and heat the tissue to stimulate the production of collagen. What makes Morpheus8 different than other New York needling treatments is the depth the needles penetrate the skin. It is the only treatment that can mold fat under the skin to obtain optimal results. Contouring and refining the subdermal layers will enable a more detailed approach to sculpt the face naturally.
- Equipped with Burst mode RF technology, Morpheus8 Body automatically deploys bipolar RF energy to multi-level treatment depths in a single cycle. The ability to target tissue sequentially at three levels, in millisecond intervals, allows for a significant reduction in treatment times, minimizes
skin injury, increases treatment uniformity, and enables customized
full body fractional procedures.

What happens during the treatment?
The procedure is carried out in an outpatient setting, under topical or intumescent anaesthetic. Working within a small grid marked on the skin, a portable hand-held device delivers radiofrequency via micro-needles deep into the dermis, where collagen and elastin production is stimulated. The procedure typically takes less than an hour. and a course of 1-5 treatments is recommended, 3-6 weeks apart.
Morpheus8 as a stand-alone procedure for the indications outlined above plus:
As a bridge procedure– For patients who aren’t ready for a surgical procedure like a facelift Morpheus8, with or without FaceTite™, can “bridge the gap” with lower cost, faster recovery and less risk until you’re ready for more – all without the need for anesthesia or sedations.
As a combined procedure– we add Morpheus8 to FaceTite in order to obtain maximum skin tightening and also to provide added skin quality improvement. This procedure is known as “EmbraceRF.”
FaceTite or Facelift Maintenance– A treatment with Morpheus8 once a year will help maintain the results following facelift surgery and FaceTite. You can continue to age gracefully and you may never need surgery in the future.
The Morpheus8 Treatment
We deliver Morpheus 8 in White Rock by using a local anesthetic to decrease the sensation of both the microneedles and radiofrequency energy penetration. After the topical numbing cream has desensitized the skin, we begin treatment using a small handheld applicator. The tip of the applicator has several tiny needles that are powered with radiofrequency via the device platform. The treating clinician places the applicator against the skin for a few seconds while energy is inserted through the needles. The applicator is then removed from the surface and placed onto the adjacent area. The motion is somewhat like a stamping technique rather than moving the applicator across the skin.

General FAQ
Have any question?
Morpheus8 has multiple uses and can be employed to treat nasolabial folds, jowling, wrinkles and lines, a loss of facial fat volume in the midface, aging in the neck, acne and acne scarring, and so many other cosmetic concerns all over the face and the body. With Morpheus8, there is no need for anesthesia or incisions, so you can undergo the procedure and get right back to your busy schedule within a few days. Side effects really amount to the same redness you might experience after a day at the beach.
If you are looking to reduce the signs of aging and are not ready to undergo a more invasive treatment, Morpheus8 might be right for you. Most healthy men and women are good candidates for Morpheus8. One of the top 3 providers of Morpheus8 in the Eastern United States, Dr. Rapaport can perform this treatment on any patient he believes are good candidates. If you are under 18 years of age, you will need parent consent. Those who are looking to smooth lines and creases, improve uneven texture and minimize sun damage could benefit from Morpheus8. This treatment is often performed in conjunction with liposuction and body/face/necktite to achieve optimal skin tightening with other contouring procedures.
The length of the treatment can depend on the individual’s needs. Typically, you will only need 30 to 60 minutes to complete the process.
Morpheus8 is versatile. It can be used on any area of the body that can benefit from collagen renewal. The most common areas include the lower face and neck. Areas with challenges such as acne scarring or discoloration can also be treated with Morpheus8.
Morpheus8 is performed in Dr. Rapaport’s office in New York. The procedure is relatively painless even with the deeper penetration of needles. The needles used are very sharp and fine, allowing the benefit of puncturing your skin without the feeling of any tugging or pulling. To ensure your comfort, a topical cream will be applied to the treatment area. When the procedure begins, you might feel a slight prickling sensation followed by a feeling of warmth as the needles pass over your skin. The advanced technology of Morpheus8 provides controlled and consistent heat delivery allowing for uniform treatment and results.
Morpheus8 is a non-invasive procedure so there really will not be any need for downtime or recovery. Most people return to work the day after their treatment. Post-treatment, you may see a bit of pinpoint bleeding from the needles. This should only last for a few minutes. Your skin will be red and feel hot like it is a bit sunburned for up to one week. Swelling around the treated areas is also a minor concern but should be resolved within a day or two. A good moisturizer and a broad-spectrum sunscreen are recommended.
This is the fun part! After being treated with Morpheus8, your skin will be refreshed, revitalized and enhanced. Over the course of several weeks, new layers of collagen will begin to plump and volumize depleted skin contours, firming up your complexion so it appears more youthful and smooth. The skin’s overall tone and texture will be superior to that which you began treatment with, and a subtle lift with minimized skin laxity will begin to appear. It’s recommended that you undergo a series of treatments with Morpheus8 to experience full, comprehensive benefits.
Depending on your Morpheus8 treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-3 sessions.
Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment
Fractionated RF energy is a scientifically proven method to reduce wrinkles and rebuild collagen and fat. It is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro pins to renew deeper layers of the skin with almost no patient downtime.
The benefit of Morpheus8’s color blind technology is that it can be used on all skin types. The unique properties allow even darker tones to be treated with little risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is common with other resurfacing methods.
RF energy heats the deep layers of the skin in a controlled manner to revitalize the collagen. This treatment helps to improve skin complexion and texture for a more radiant and youthful appearance.
Yes, Morpheus8 can be combined with PRP for optimal results.
Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters
Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing their future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the aging process.
What’s the difference between surgical blepharoplasty and Morpheus8 eye bag tightening?
Surgical blepharoplasty is excellent for correcting moderate to severe loose eyelid skin and puffy eyelids. It is still the “gold standard”, with only a few weeks downtime and impressive results lasting more than 10 years. Morpheus8 is a new innovative way of tightening loose skin and acts as an impressive alternative to surgery, allowing a gentle correction of moderate loose skin. For eyelid lifts, 3-4 sessions performed every 3-6 weeks may be required, making it the perfect solution for people who want a gradual, scarless correction.
Does Morpheus8 hurt?
Topical anaesthetic is applied to cleansed skin and left to work for 20-30 minutes, although most patients may still feel some heat and discomfort during the treatment. At the end of the session, there will be some redness and swelling in the treated area which may be sore.
What is the downtime?
Morpheus8 is done as an outpatient treatment, so you can go home right after the procedure. Following treatment the eyelids might swell temporarily, but they settle within 48-72 hours. You may need to use oral anti-inflammatory medication. If redness occurs, it can take from 4 – 21 days to disappear. It is important not to scratch, pick or rub the area treated as a pinkish skin discoloration or hypo/hyperpigmentation could persist. You will be required to use a specialised serum rich in growth factors twice a day for 4 weeks to accelerate the healing process. SPF50 must also be applied twice a day on the treated area to protect the skin.
You should not have this treatment if you have a pacemaker, internal defibrillator or any electronic implant such as a glucose monitor, a permanent implant in the treated area, such as metal plates and screws, silicone implants or an injected chemical substance. It is not suitable for those with a history of diseases stimulated by heat, such as recurrent Herpes Simplex in the treated area, any active conditions such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, rashes or recently / excessively tanned skin. If you have had filler in the last 6 months, botox in the last 2 weeks or are pregnant, you should avoid this treatment.
